Fertility concept is influenced by political, economic, and cultural develop ment, the traditional child-bearing viewpoint prefers more babies and son, but modern fertility concept is less babies and no preference. The best child-beari ng age of women is between23and30years old, the80’women are in gol den age of childbearing, their fertility decision has a crucial impact on the de mographic trends. They have difficulty in work and birth, they are faced with the role of tension and conflict. Based on gender theory and conflict theory, I studied and analyzed their reproductive decisions, then offered a proposal.The research demonstrated the highly educated career women are deeply influenced by the traditional culture, child is an important event of their life. The unmarried women concerned more on the work, but once they have babi es, they would pay more attention on family and babies. Also, they they’d li ke to create a favorable environment for the growth. Their birth idea and act ual behaviour are different, the ideal number of children is two, but actully t hey have only one. Economic condition, career development and family plann ing policy are main factors affecting fertility decisions.The80’s highly educated career women are the first generation after the family planning policy. The research could help to know our country’s popul ation sitiuation and future development trends, it also contributes to the imple mentation of the family planning policy and harmonious society.
