At present, along with the advancement of reform and opening up, intensification of globalization and the influence of market economy, people’s values and spiritual life met with unprecedented challenges. Our social members no longer have lofty political beliefs like those people had during the revolution, and the diversification of social group caused the diversification of social values. People’s subject consciousness, freedom gradually expanded, and the diversity of ideas makes it hard for the people to form certain social consensus, which have a huge impact on socialist core value system. Compared to this kind of dramatic transformation, change of social situation, ideological and political education system for college students is not to make the corresponding adjustment.The author uses embodied cognition, which belongs to the field of cognitive science, and puts it into the field of ideological and political education. The developing of contemporary cognitive science and the emergence after the third generation of cognitive science, cognitive thoughts formed a kind of important cognitive theory direction. And because of its scientific of cognitive method, and the effectiveness of cognitive effects, cognitive thoughts become the theory source for the cognitive science to further expanse and deepening. The ideological and political education is a special kind of cognitive activity, mainly it is the activity based on the theory of Marxism and the theoretical achievements of Sinicization. The introduction of cognitive thoughts will effectively improves college students’ ideological and political education theory and practice.From Embodied Cognition perspective, the present college students’ Ideological and Political Education system have some issues in such elements like subject, content, way, etc.:ignore the students’ subject status, old teaching method, lack of interactivity, education content lack of humanistic concern and emotional care for students. Using Embodied Cognition theory as the guide, we need to set up the ideological and political education with systematical view, to bring the ideological and political education as a system engineering construction; bring the subjectivity of the educated into full play, which truly reflects the "people-oriented" in the education process, to realize the "people’s free all-round development"; optimize internal and external environment of ideological and political education for college students, and provides a dynamic environment for ideological and political education system.
