Objective:Rural areas is the high-risk areas which have a high prevalence of chronic diseases and diet imbalance. This study aims to obtain the status of chronic diseases and food intakes in female aged from18to60years old in rural areas, and provide evidence for chronic disease prevention and diet improvement; To investigate the awareness of nutrition and health-related knowledge in village doctors, cultivate the nutrition and health knowledge, test the effectiveness of training and provide assistance for the following study.Methods:Take the cluster random sampling method and select SheXian which in Handan City, Hebei Province and Lishui District in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province as the survey area, grouped the villages into three levels according the economic income and selected six villages (2village in each level) randomly to carry out the investigation, and selected rural women aged from18to60randomly to complete the questionnaire. The questionnaire include:the basic information, which include the status of marriage family income, occupation, etc.; the history of chronic diseases diseases, such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes. Take the physical and biochemical tests and a food frequency questionnaire to the women selected randomly, including height, weight and blood pressure checks, calculate the prevalence of hypertension groups by blood pressure checks,determine overweight and obesity rates by BMI, obtain the prevalence of anemia rate and the reasonableness of diet through food frequency. Cooperate with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in rural areas,organize doctors to complete the KAP questionnaire and health-related knowledge training, analysis the awareness of the change before and after training in rural doctors.Results:The prevalence of chronic diseases in both regions was20.4%, the major diseases affecting the health of women aged18to60was chronic hypertension, chronic gastritis, anemia, dyslipidemia, and diabetes, the prevalence of chronic diseases in Lishui was32.4%,which is relatively higher than that in SheXian,which is15.1%. The related factors analysis indicate education, occupation, drinking, BMI and age are the main factors associated with the prevalence of chronic diseases. Food frequency survey results show that the daily intake of foods is lower than the daily reference intake and lower than average level of China’s rural residents searched in2002except cereals, fats and salt. Among the vitamins and minerals, only vitamin E, iron, and nutrients can meet the recommended amount of sodium while retinol, riboflavin, calcium, and selenium intake did not reached or exceeded the50%of DRIs. People who is overweight and obesity dietary take less f vegetables and too much fats and oils than ordinary people while less animal food was taken by anemia women. The awareness of rural doctors for weight loss, obesity,nutrition and other health knowledge raised from50%to90%rise after the training which indicate that the training was efficient.Conclusion:The prevalence of chronic diseases is high and diet pattern was unreasonable in this two areas, the features of diets were the adequate of botanical food and shortage of animal food which is lower than the reference intake. Rural residents should pay attention the diet of overweight and obesity patients by reduce the intake of fats and oils and increase vegetables. Anemia patients should increase the intake of animal foods. The awareness of nutrition-health-related knowledge among rural doctors is in a relatively low level and the rate increased after the training, the education about health and nutrition was needed eagerly between doctors s and residents in rural areas.
