| Purpose:1.To observe the distribution of TCM syndrome elements of the atherosclerosis patients by collecting four diagnostic information of203patients with atherosclerotic disease.2.To explore the pulse wave velocity (PWV) and ankle arm index (ABI) and the correlation between TCM syndrome elements, and their relationship with related influence factors. Methods:This was a retrospective study involved203cerebral atherosclerotic inpatients treated in Dongzhimen Hospital. The general information,TCM four diagnostic information, and relevant inspection data(PWV and ABI) were collected and processed statistically. Observe the distribution of TCM syndrome elements of the atherosclerosis patients and analyze the correlation between PWV,ABI and TCM syndrome elements, and their relationship with related influence factors. The data collected by Access2007was analyzed with SPSS17.0. Describe the count data using percentage, and measurement data using the mean±standard deviation.Count data were compared by chi-square test, and measurement data between two groups was compared by t test.Data in the normal distribution was analyzed by spearman correlation coefficient, others was analyzed by Kendall’s correlation coefficient.Results:1.In203cases of patients with atherosclerotic disease:98cases were male (48.3%), and105cases were female(51.7%).Mainly concentrated in the age distribution of patients from70to79years old, with the proportion of35.5%. Other age brackets, in declining order,were50-59(20.2%),60-69(19.7%),80+(13.3%),40-49(10.3%) and30-39(1%).2.In distribution of gender, there was no statistically significant difference among different TCM syndrome elements of atherosclerosis (p>0.05). In atherosclerotic disease, the frequency of chronic vascular disease in hypertension was the highest, followed by that of cerebral infarction, and hyperlipidemia. No significant difference was found in PWV and ABI between the groups with chronic diseases.3.According to the analysis of the syndrome elements in the atherosclerosis, scores of meridian, heart, liver were higher than score of kidney; points of lung, stomach, and phlegm, dampness, wind were higher than that of blood stasis; scores of qi stagnation, heat, and Yin deficiency were higher than that of qi deficiency, blood deficiency, Yang deficiency.4.PWV correlated positively with age, sex, smoking, arm and ankle systolic blood pressure(P<0.05); ABI was negatively correlated with age,arm systolic blood pressure (P<0.01),and positively correlated with ankle systolic pressure and diastolic blood pressure (P<0.05).5.There was no significant difference among different TCM syndrome elements in PWV and ABI distribution (P>0.05),and no strong correlation was found between TCM syndrome elements and PWV-ABI.Conclusions:1.Atherosclerosis can affect the heart, brain, kidney and lower vascular disease, etc.Study the distribution of TCM elements may provide theoretical basis of TCM dialectical treatment.2.The atherosclerotic process in the liver, in the heart and in the meridian disease are more prominent. Phlegm, wet and dynamic wind are the main pathogenic factors in empirical syndrome factors. Yin deficiency is the main internal cause of atherosclerosis, intermingled deficiency and excess is the main characteristic of the pathogenesis of this disease.3.It is essential for the elderly to take routine test of PWV and ABI to evaluate the state of blood vessels and detect potential danger.4.PWV,ABI are noninvasive evaluation indexes of atherosclerosis, but their correlations with TCM syndrome elements still need further clinical research. |
