Because of the special structure and position of the fingers, finger injuries are common in some daily exercises and sports. Especially for the elderly, their fingers not only are vulnerable to injury, but also with some problems of limited hand mobility. The existing products for finger rehabilitation are often not reflective enough of actual functional performance. With the developing technology, innovative solutions in finger rehabilitation design will be needed in order to address this problem. This essay explores the rehabilitation products for non-nerve finger injury as the main goal of the study, and then discusses the design methods and principles for the finger rehabilitation products for elderly. Especially, it will analyze the working principle and the user group that will benefit from the finger rehabilitation products based on the ergonomics, human-computer interaction analysis, and product semantics analysis of the finger rehabilitation products for elderly. It will also summarize both traditional and modern finger rehabilitation products comparison and review proposed rehabilitation process for the finger rehabilitation design that should including some necessary elements. This article discusses how art and design can improve the user experience of finger rehabilitation products in enhanced ways in the future. Through the analysis of the concept and function of finger rehabilitation design, we can see that the most important requirement for the finger exerciser should be easy to use and giving a natural range of motion in the hands and fingers. After refining the feedback of some patients from different ages who ever injured their fingers, the other requirements should include comfort, cost effectiveness, and interactive feedback. These requirements evaluate existing measurement in rehabilitation design from consideration. The author uses case research of existing finger rehabilitation products, and then analyzes design principles and methods of them, and then proves them effective and available by analyzing practical cases.
