Combustion, an extremely complicated process with physical and chemical reactions, was easily varied by most of the burning material components. The combustion process of the tobacco is especially complicated because of its amount of chemical compositions. The smoke produced from burning tobacco was correlated with combustion state of tobacco, and that was to say, the quality of tobacco was indirectly reflected by evaluation of tobacco combustion state. The dissertation is composed of5chapters, in which the establishment and verification of the tobacco combustion characteristic index was studied, according to the characteristics of combustion of engineering thermalphysics. Focus on the tobacco combustion characteristic index, several following aspects were carried out:(1)The establishment of the combustion characteristic index①According to engineering thermalphysics and utilizing different parts of tobacco, analyzing the combustion characteristic parameters, the tobacco combustion characteristic index was established.②The optimization of experimental conditionsUsing single factor analysis of variance, the significant factors heating rate atmosphere and particle size were confirmed and the factors have no interaction, and the best conditions were established as:20K/min, nitrogen and oxygen atmosphere,0.180mm.(2)The verification and application of combustion characteristic index①The pyrolysis and combustion of different parts tobacco leaves were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis. Based on the achievements from TG and DTG curves, there were3phases in the pyrolysis and combustion of different parts tobacco leaves, that were323-423K,423-663K and663-1173K, and the combustion performance of middle parts were the best.②Based on combustion characteristic index, the typicality discriminant function was found, and analysis48samples of tobacco leaves and stems were concluded, and the accuracy rate was100%.To establish and verify the combustion characteristic index, not only can evaluate the combustion characteristic of tobacco, but also can confirm the quality of tobacco. The above also confirmed its universality.
