Were there thoughts on women’s liberation of Marx and Engels’ ideology in the world? This question was debated by the academic world many times. Of course, the answer is positive, but Marx and Engels’thoughts on women’s liberation only focuses on their works in various periods. Marx and Engels’thoughts on women’s liberation base on some reflection of women’s liberation in Marx and Engels’era. Though Marx and Engels didn’t have any work on women’s liberation, they reflected on women’s liberation originated form human being’s liberation just like a stream from a river. And they thought about this problem standing on the basis of human being’s liberation, which is a very academic height.This thesis will sort out a clue from formation and development of Marx and Engels’thoughts on women’s liberation that then will be discussed.This thesis demonstrates and analyzes Marx and Engels’thoughts on women’s liberation, mainly taken three aspects into account:The production of division of labor and private ownership are the origin of female’s oppressed status, the social status of women’s liberation and conditions ad means of women’s liberation. At the same time, it points out the conditions of women’s liberation are eliminating the exploiting class and private ownership. What’s more, the means of women’s liberation are participating in social work and socializing housework.Besides, this thesis bases on reality and demonstrates the contemporary value of Marx and Engels’thoughts on women’s liberation. On one hand, its theoretical value contributes source of ideas to contemporary women’s liberation theories, especially to western feminism theories. On the other hand, its practice value bases on contemporary Chinese women’s liberation which is analyzed, and it specifies the direction of contemporary Chinese women’s liberation.
