The Female Body Narrative Of Revolutionary Model Dramas

Model Dramas is the classic paradigm of revolutionary literature, result from perfect development of the political literary and artistic ideas. Revolutionary Model Dramas have shaped a large number of female images. In the Model Dramas, women’s body is always represents with facial designed and categorized characters. The body narrative of Revolutionary Model Dramas takes the macroscopic view survey to the relationships between the body and authority or politic. The body narrative has descended to carrier and tool for propagate of the political intentions, with its physiological properties and value greatly destroyed and rewrote. In this paper, we take female body narrative as the research object, analysis the female body type and the specific strategy of the women in these cultural revolution literatures, find the meaning and value of the female body narrative and explore its further connotation.The thesis is divided into five parts. In chapter one, we introduces the historical position and formation process of Model Dramas, interpret the topic and its origin. The second chapter is focused on body type settings; we discuss the three types of female image in Model Dramas and describe the basis for classification by detailed analysis to these novels. In the third chapter, the four kinds of strategy of the female body narrative is discussed, expound the unique method the Model Dramas’ body narrative adopted. In the fourth part, we describe the meaning of body narrative, such as modification and discipline of the female body ruled by Political ideology in literary narration and its significance to national historical construction. The fifth chapter is the conclusion of this paper, some thinking and reflection about the body narrative of Model Dramas is further researched, including female grow-up, female liberation, development of body narrative and so on.
