| Objective Total laminectomy seriously destroy bone structure, which isaffect spinal stability. This article was to investigate the affect on spinal stabilityafter laminectomy Involved in different segments of vertebral plate in thetreatment of lumbar intradural extramedullary tumor. Methods The study retrospectively reviewed the data of143patients withlumbar intradural extramedullary tumor who underwent the surgery fromJanuary2010to June2012. The stability of the spine between preoperative andthe last follow-up were compared..Results: In the last follow-up,2of the45patients suffered spinal instability inthe one segment group;9of the57patients suffered spinal instability in the twosegments group;5of the27patients suffered spinal instability in the threesegments group;2of the14patients suffered spinal instability in the foursegments group. Conclusion: A single segment of the laminectomy on lumbar intradural extramedullary tumor showed good postoperative stability of the spine. But twoor more segments of the laminectomy on lumbar intradural extramedullarytumor suffered greater risk of postoperative spinal instability. |
