| AIM:To evaluate the efficacy of dendritic and cytokine kiner cells therapy after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization combined with radiofrequency ablation on patients with small hepatocellular carcinoma (SHCC) and research the immunologic index changes of patients with HCC.METHODS:85patients with SHCC in our hospital from April2008to April2012were recruited and divided into two groups after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) and radiofrequency ablation (RFA).7days after TACE and RFA,the study group(41cases) received DC-CIK therapy with6times, and the number of DC-CIK cells was above1.0×1010. The control group with44cases only received with TACE and RFA.RESULTS:AFP in control group A before and after treatment were494.5mg/L±51.3mg/L vs226.5mg/L±39.4mg/L,P<0.05; AFP in study group B were486.4mg/L±54.8mg/L vs168.7mg/L±49.5mg/L,P<0.01. ALT, AST in group B before and after treatment were66U/L±6.3U/L,68U/L±7.7U/L vs31U/L±5.9U/L,45U/L±3.7U/L, P<0.05; ALT, AST in group A were67U/L±7.4U/L,63U/L±4.5U/L vs65U/L±6.2U/L,61U/L±5.2U/L,P>0.05. The efficacy of the both groups was evaluated by imaging examination, the efficiency of group B (87.80%) was higher than group A(79.54%),P<0.05.1-,2-,3-year survival rates in group B were95.1%,71.6%,68.3%respectively, and those in group A are90.9%,65.9%,59.1%, P<0.05. The percentages of CD3+, CD16+CD56+effect cells were obviously increased and the proportion of CD4+/CD8+were obviously increased after DC-CIK therapy(P<0.05); while the percentage of CD8+effect cells was decreased in study group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Sequential DC-CIK therapy after TACE and RFA can improve hepatic function and immune function of patients with SHCC, and may play an important role in reducing recurrence rate of SHCC and prolonging the survival time. |
