Objective:To assess the clinical value of the combined application of EEN andPN in esophageal cancer patients undergoing radical resection.Method:43cases of esophageal cancer are selected from January2013toJanuary2014in the thoracic surgery department of The Third Hospital OfJilin University. Depending on the different manner of postoperativenutrition support, the cases are divided into two groups:combinedapplication of early enteral nutrition and parenteral nutritiongroup(EEN+PN),18cases,were managed with early nutrition supportthrough the duodenal feeding tube, combined application of parenteralnutrition;total parenteral nutrition group(TPN):25cases,were managed withnutrition support through veins.Collecte and compare the reports oflymphocytes count(LYM),serum albumin (ALB),prealbumin(PA) of pre-operation and the8thday after operation.Observe and compare the time ofanal exsufflation and the duration of hospitalization after operation,as wellas the complications and the cost of nutrition support.Result:1.There is no significant difference in LYM,ALB and PA of pre-operation between two groups(P>0.05).The reports of the8thday afteroperation, there is no significant difference in ALB between twogroups(P>0.05),the LYM and PA indexes of EEN+PN group are higherthan TPN group’s, the difference is significant(P<0.05). 2.Compare the time of anal exsufflation and the duration ofhospitalization after operation between two groups, the results of EEN+PNare shorter than TPN’s,the differences are significant(P<0.05).3.The cost of nutrition support of EEN+PN group is less than that ofTPN group, the difference is significant(P<0.01).4.There is no severe adverse reaction in both groups. The rate ofinfectious complications of EEN+PN group are lower than that of TPNgroup, the difference is not significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:Compared with postoperative total parenteral nutrition(TPN) inesophageal cancer patients, the combination of early enteral nutrition andparenteral nutrition (EEN+PN) is more conductive to nutrition andimmune state improving and gastroenteric function recovering, and thenreduce the rate of infectious complications, decrease the duration ofhospitalization after operation and save the cost of nutrition support.
