Objective To analyze the factors affecting the effect of hearing aids in patients with presbycusis. To take appropriate interventions and provide a theoretical basis for Patients in clinical hearing rehabilitation. Investigate clinical audiological characteristics for kidney deficiency group and Live-Fire group patients with presbycusis and the relationship with the effect of hearing aids. Methods One hundred and twenty cases with presbycusis were investigated by using general data and the Satisfaction with Amplification in Daily Life questionnaire(SADL). the individual scores and total scores of all the subjects were collected together with the personal imformation, including age, gender, degree of education, pure-tone average, hearing aid type, monaural/binaural status, total hearing aid experience, daily use time, the durations of perceived hearing difficulty. Single factor analysis and multiple stepwise regression analysis were used to filter out main factors influencing the effect of hearing aids. Investigate clinical audiological characteristics for kidney deficiency group and Live-Fire group patients with presbycusis and the relationship with the effect of hearing aids. Results The degree of education, hearing aid type, monaural/binaural status, daily use time, the durations of perceived hearing difficulty were factors influencing the effect of hearing aids. The patients with higher level of education, the longer daily use, binaural status get more scores than the low degree of education, the shorter daily use, monaural status(P <0.01). The patients with short time of perceived hearing difficulty get more scores than those with long time of perceived hearing difficulty (P<0.01). In general, the degree of education, the daily use time were the main factors influencing the effect of hearing aid. The petients with kidney deficiency group were older than the Live-Fire group, the SADL scores lower than the latter, tinnitus frequency concentrated in the high-frequency (p<0.05).while no statistical difference in terms of the durations of perceived hearing difficulty, pure-tone average, total hearing aid experience, daily use time, Tympanogram, Canal volumes, compliance value, amplitude (p>0.05).Conclusion There are many factors that influence the effect of hearing aid, in which the degree of education, daily use time are the main factors, the combination of the two factors obtains the maximization effect of hearing aid, and the binaural status, the short time of perceived hearing difficulty obtain better satisfaction. The gender doesn’t significantly influence the effect of the hearing aids. Compared with the Live-Fire group, kidney deficiency group patients had significant statistical difference (p<0.05) in the age, SADL scores, tinnitus frequency.while no statistical difference in terms of the durations of perceived hearing difficulty, pure-tone average, total hearing aid experience, daily use time, Tympanogram,Canal volumes, compliance value, amplitude (p>0.05).The development of presbycusis may be associated with the degree of kidney deficiency getting worse. The Satisfaction with Amplification in Daily Life questionnaire score is low.
