Objective:1. Surveying to know the pros and cons of six internationally recognized cognitive assessment tools which usually use after stroke in the domestic clinical work, to electe the relative ideal scale for screening patients who with cognitive impairment.2. Developing a pilot version of MoCA (Twelve· five Version) after translating and adapting the original MoCA (English Version), then examing the reliability and validity of the pilot version’s MoCA (Twelve· five Version) in Clinical.Methods:1. To survey online with a self-designed and the research group revised rehabilitation specialist approved structured validation questionnaire on six cognitive assessment tools in three domestic level general or specialist hospital of several provinces.2. Inviting experts in related fields forming an expert panel to make some comments on MoCA scale for content validity assessment and discuss on the controversial entries, form a expert consensus and determine the pilot version of MoCA (Twelve· five Version) finally, then applying the pilot version of MoCA (Twelve· five Version) on224stroke patients in the four regions (Fujian province, Shanghai, Xinjiang Autonomous Region, Guangdong province) to examing its reliability and validity.Results:1. MMSE, MoCA and NCSE are the most widely used tools; Among the eleven psychological characteristics of MMSE, clinical operability and patients acceptability are better than others; MoCA, which has a high evaluation in the aspects of theoretical basis, can sensitively response to the progress of patients function and guide to make clinical treatment plans.2. The pilot version of MoCA has good reliability and validity. The internal consistency is0.912and test-retest reliability is0.924. But the test of language fluency, which should be further modified and ascertained by norm study of the scale, is unsatisfactory in internal consistency of the scale. Analysis of items show that difficulty of total scale is0.485and difficulty of all items in the scale is0.267-0.791. The whole items have a nice discrimination. Conclusion: 1. MMSE and MoCA are the suitable scales in the clinical work to screen patients who with cognitive impairment.2. The pilot version of MoCA has a satisfied reliability and validity. But some items should be further amendments by norm study to determine the appropriate final scale.
