Observation On Therapeutic Effect Of Acupuncture For Treatment Of Trigeminal Neuralgia Yangming Meridian

Objective:To observe the recent and forward curative effect of Yangming meridian acupoints acupuncture treatment of trigeminal neuralgia and influence on content of substance P and β-endorphin,preliminary discussion on mechanism of acupuncture treatment of trigeminal neuralgiaMethods:Choose60patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia diagnostic criteria,The patients were randomly divided into two groups, treatment group(acupuncture Yangming acupoints group),control group(the non-meridian and no-acupoint group). Each group of30cases and two courses of treatment,10days for a course of treatment, rest for2days. Record respectively two groups of patients’ TCM symptom score、 VAS score(visual analogue scale)、 concentrations of substance P and β-endorphin in the blood plasma with before and after treatment, to determine the recent curative effect. After treatment2months,follow-up observation of traditional Chinese medicine symptom score、 VAS score compared the long-term efficacy of two groups.Results:(1) recent curative:①reatment group total effective rate (90.00%) was higher significantly than the control group (55.17%), two groups have significant difference (P<0.01);②fter treatment, TCM symptom score、VAS score、concentrations of substance P and β-endorphin in the blood plasma of treatment group ware better than before obviously (P<0.01), comparison between groups show that the score are better than the control group(P<0.05);(2)long term curative:①reatment group total effective rate (90.00%) was higher than the control group (31.03%),②fter treatment2months, TCM symptom score、VAS score of treatment group ware better than before obviously (P<0.01), comparison between groups show that the score of treatment group ware better than the control group obviously (P<0.01)Conclusion:(1) Both acupuncture with and without the specific acupoint on the meridian of Yangming had effect on treatment, especially for acupuncture with Yangming acupoint on Hegu、Xiaguan、Dicang、Sibai to cure trigeminal neuralgia. Confirmed by the clinical treatment, the short-term effect and long-term effect of the therapy group were better than the control group.(2) Yang Ming meridian acupuncture can improve clinical symptoms of patients with trigeminal neuralgia,and adjust concentrations of substance P and β-endorphin.
