Orthodontic Treatment Of Brodie Bite With Lower Bilateral Incisors Miss Congenitally

Objective: Use fixed appliance to treat Brodie bite,and discuss the treatment ofBrodie bite.Materials and methods: A male case with Brodie bite was selected from DalianOrtho Clinic in April2011, who was18years old, Han nationality,Bilateral molarClass II relationship, Ⅰ°deep overbite,III°deep overjet; upper moderatecrowding,lower mild crowding, congenitally missing of lower bilateral incisors. Byclinical examination, model analysis, cephalometric analysis of the patient, extractedthe maxillary two first premolars and mandibular two third molars, applied edgewisetechnique with TTBE to treat this patient.Results: The course of orthodontic treatment is22months. Comparing thechanges between treatment: analysis of comparative measurements: upper intermolarwidths decrease, lower intermolar widths increase, IMPA increased14°, SNB decreased1°, AO-BO decreased7.5mm, Z angle increased4°; facial profile better; The patient andhis parents were satisfied with the result after treatment.Conclusion：To the Brodie bite patients refusing surgery treatment, we can try touse pure orthodontic technique to get satisfied result under right diagnosis and propermethod.
