Objectives:Perform a comparative study of market collutory and traditional oral nursingmethod to assess the difference between the effects of group A, group B andtraditional method, in order to guide the clinical practice and improve the quality ofbasic nursing quality.Methods:The selected patients were randomly divided into3groups: experimental groupA, the experimental group B and traditional oral care group. Group A was treated withcollutory A, Group B was treated with collutory B in after the first2to3days ofpatients with gastric tube. The last group use the traditional oral care with saline.Bacterial culture, fungal culture, oral cleanliness, oral pH, mouth odor, patientcomfort, nursing care time, oral care complications were observed in each groupbefore and after oral care.Results:(1) The number of colonies of bacterial culture was decreased in group A and B(Group A t=7.079,p<0.01; Group B t=14.54,p<0.01). The number of colonies ofbacterial culture did not change statistically in the traditional group(t=0.57,p=0.573). There is a significant difference between the traditional group andgroup A or B(F=81.60, p<0.01).(2) Patients oral hygiene, PH value, improves of mouth odor were significantly changed in all3groups. The oral hygiene in group A was better than the other2groups(F=11.76,p<0.01).(3) Patient comfort level was no statistical difference. (4) Traditional group took longer care operations and higher cost than the othergroups. There were no dental care complications in all groups.Conclusions:(1) Both collutory A and B have clearly effects. The method of mouthwash and oralscrub both can clean the oral cavity, improve the oral odor, and change the acidicenvironment of the mouth.(2) Collutory A and B have better bactericidal effect than traditional oral care.(3) Mouthwash is a simple, time-saving way, and comfort level compared with thetraditional oral care was not statistically significant. collutory A and B can replacethe traditional part of oral care in patients with self-care ability.
