The subject of traditionalChinese medicine (TCM) in the framework of the research on organs are based on theresearch of the pathogenesis of depression.Meanwhile,the current Chinese and westernmedicine on depression are expounded.Though the study of the ancient and modernliterature, the paper introduces the concept of deficiency of liver-qi.Based on the etiologyand pathogenesis of deficiency of liver-qi and from the Angle of theoretical analysis andactual clinical observation,the deficiency of liver-qi is an important pathogenesis ofdepression, a new view.Though the analysis of ancient and modern literature,the papergives the prescription and principle of Da Bugan decotion.It should be said that the subjectabout deficiency of liver-qi is the supplement to the pathogenesis of depression, makes upfor the medical profession in the current of the insufficiency of the understanding ofetiology and pathogenesis of depression and has certain guiding significance in clinicalpractice.
