Objective To study the relationship of CD147and MMP-9expression withangiogenesis in hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods The expression of CD147and MMP-9was detected withimmunohistochemistry SP methord in63cases of hepatocellular carcinoma tissues, andthe microvessel density(MVD) was recorded by CD105under optical microscope. Results The positive expression rate of CD147and MMP-9in63cases ofhepatocellular carcinoma tissues were respectively65.1%(41/63) and73.0%(46/63),while the expression of CD147and MMP-9was correlated with the tumor size, portalvein cancer embolism, tumor differentiation degree and TNM staging (P <0.05), but notwith the patient’s gender, age and the serum level of alpha-fetal protein(AFP)(P>0.05). The MVD in CD147, MMP-9positive group was obviously higher thanthat in negative group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Theexpression of CD147and MMP-9has significant positive correlation in hepatocellularcarcinoma(rs=0.680,P<0.01).Conclusion Upregulation of CD147in hepatocellular carcinoma may play a role inangiogenesis through increasing the production of MMP-9,thus promote tumorinvasion and metastasis.
