Objective:To study the effect of anti-Mullerian hormone(AMH) concentrations in serum and follicular fluid (FF) on predicting clinical treatment outcomes during in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET) cycles. Methods:GnRH agonist long-protocol (46cases, group â… ) and GnRH antagonist protocol (46cases, group â…¡) were performed in a total of92patients undergoing IVF procedure by random. AMH concentrations in serum and FF of92patients were measured on the third day of menstrual cycle, the HCG day and the oocyte pick-up (OPU) day. Serum AMH was determined of3days after Gn injection in GnRH agonist protocol (46patients) under the down-regulation effect and no hormone measurement was performed at the initial stage of GnRH antagonist protocol. This study focuses on making a comparision of the correlations between AMH values of serum and FF and the clinical treatment outcomes under different protocols. Results:AMH concentrations in serum and FF were similar between two stimulation groups. AMH concentrations of basal serum correlated positively with FSH/LH, retrieved oocytes (total and Mâ…¡ oocytes) and the occyrance of OHSS. Serum AMH values obtained of3days after Gn injection in GnRH agonist protocol, and AMH concentrations in serum and FF on OPU day correlated positively with retrieved oocytes (total and Mâ…¡ oocytes). Serum and FF AMH levels were observed to have negative correlations with the total gonadotropin administration dose and days. No statistically significant correlation was found between AMH levels and fertilization rate (FR). Serum AMH values obtained of3days after Gn injection in GnRH agonist protocol correlated negatively with cycle cancellation rate, while FF AMH levels correlated positively with clinical pregnancy rate. Conclusion:AMH concentrations in serum and FF were similar during the different COH (controlled ovarian hyperstimulation) protocols in IVF-ET. BAMH (basal AMH) concentrations in serum could reflect ovarian reserve and correlated positively with the occurance of OHSS. AMH during COH could predict ovarian response in patients undergoing IVF procedure. FF AMH levels correlated positively with clinical pregnancy rate in young women.
