| Objective：To observe the vascular endothelial function and the therapeutic effect of traditionalChinese medicine on carotid IMT in patients with Subclinical atherosclerosi（sAS）of type2diabetes mellitus with the way of clinical investigation and case study.Methods：1.100patients with diabetes and50healthy people were divided into three groups:50patients with subclinical AS（Group B）,50patients without subclinical AS(Group A), and50normal control(Group N). And then to study the levels of endothelin (ET) and nitricoxide (NO) of the subjects, so as to analyze the relationship of Subclinical atherosclerosisof type2diabetes mellitus and the changes of vascular endothelial function；2.The subjects of group B were randomly assigned into treatment group and controlgroup.25patients in control group were treated by base treatment. The treatment group wasgiven traditional Chinese medicine in addition to base treatment. Then，the changes ofSymptoms, IMT, endothelin (ET)and nitrous oxide(NO)before and after treatment werecompared．Results：No adverse reactions happened among all subjects．1.The level of NO and ET in group A and B were both significantly higher than that ofthe group N (P<0.01).The level of ET-1in group B was significantly higher than that of the group A. There was no much difference between group A and B.2.The therapeutic results of the treatment group were both better than those of thecontrol group with statistically differences. The total efficiency of the treatment group andcontrol group were80%and48%.The former was significantly better than the latter.3.The symptoms of the both group were improved. But the treatment group hassignificantly more improvement than the control group.4.The levels of the NO and ET of the both group has much improvements after thetreatment,with the treatment group more significant.5.The IMT of the control group after treatment was thicker than that of the treatmentgroup.Conclusion：1.Measurements of the levels of ET-1and NO which reflecting the rank of endothelialdysfunction might be related to Subclinical atherosclerosis of type2diabetes mellitus;2. Treatment of traditional Chinese medicine is effective in treating Type2DiabetesMellitus patients with subclinical atherosclerosis. |
