Study On Clinical Intervention Of Catgut Implantation At Acupoint In Prehypertension Of The Phlegm-dampness Constitution

Objective: In this thesis, research was conducted to investigate the influence of acupointcatgut embedding on phlegm-dampness constitution pre-hypertension in the parametersincluding systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, blood fat, waist circumference and body massindex, which can denote the risk of cardiovascular disease. It was believed to evaluate theacupoint catgut embedding on its clinical efficacy and superiority for the population ofpre-hypertension.Method: Generally, the present work employed a research method with prospective andsmall sample randomized control.70pre-hypertensive patients of phlegm-dampnessconstitution were involved according to the standardized clinical case report form. They wererandomized into two groups, the treatment group and control group. All the patients lived inan improved life style. Patients in the treatment group were treated with acupoint catgutembedding every ten days. Specifically, every acupoint catgut embedding was defined as atreatment course, and the patients needed to take three courses. For patients in the controlgroup, they were required to take the Banxia Baizhu Tianma decoction every day. The wholetreatments included3courses since seven decoctions were defined as a treatment course, andthere existed a3-days interval between courses. The research parameters were collectedbefore and after every treatment course.Results:1. Blood pressure: After3courses of treatment, SBP and DBP level was clearly lowerthan before treatment between the study group and the control group(p<0.05).While for theBP level of the study group was lower than the control group(p<0.05).2.Blood lipids: After3courses of treatment, blood lipids, including TC,TG and LDL-C,were clearly lower and HDL-C was higher than before treatment between the study group andthe control group (p<0.05).However, there was no any significant difference between thestudy group and the control group after the final course(p>0.05).3. WC and BMI: The level of these indexes was superior to finishing course of treatmentthan before treatment (p<0.05).After3courses of treatment, WC was superior to the studygroup(p<0.05). While for the BMI level between the two groups were insignificant after thefinal course(p>0.05).Conclusions: The therapy of acupoint catgut embedding can effectively decrease theparameters including BP, TC,TG,LDL-C,WC and BMI, and increase HDL-C, this treatmentexhibited more effective than Banxia Baizhu Tianma decoction in the improvement of SBP, DBP and WC.
