Objectives: By establishing relevant mathematical model on intermaxillary tractiontreatment of mandibular condylar fracture, MATLAB software is used to do force analysisfor the model, and it provides theoretical basis for the conservative treatment of mandibularcondylar fractures.10traction treatment cases of illness will be going with curativeobservation.Methods:1.Take a patient who was treated by maxillofacial surgery of AffiliatedStomatological Hospital of Zunyi medical college. The patient had been examine throughCBCT and diagnosed with mandibular condylar fractures and accord with the standard ofconservative treatment. The main clinical signs and symptoms of Patients with condylarfracture were back teeth contact earlier, open-bite of front teeth, deflective occlusal contactand so on. According to the analytical method of space force and moment balance, themandible force equationis established intraction treatment, and use Simplant Prosoftwareto measure the mandible CBCT data of patient and build3-D model, then use MATLABsoftware to establish mathematical model with the programming languages to do the forceanalysis. Select10clinical cases which will be accept the condylar traction treatment inour hospital, use the results of experiments to guide treatment, and observeclinical efficacy.Result:By combining the CBCT and MATLAB software, analysis of intermaxillarytraction therapy:①The Jaw pad is closer the back teeth, the force in condyle is bigger.②If the traction force remains unchanged, the height of the jaw pad has no significant effecton condyle force.③If the traction force varies with the height of the jaw pad, the height ofjaw pad and the condyle forceare in proportion.④When the force is on the incisor, thecondyle force is maximum, and its variation consistent with the variation of arch curve.⑤If the direction of traction force changes, the direction of the condyle forceis opposite, andtwo forces are not a linear relationship because of the shape of the mandible.⑥If there aremultiple traction force, the more each force focus on the middle of the mandible, the larger condyle force. Appling the above analysis,10patients who accord with the standard ofconservative treatment have received satisfactory effectiveness. Conclusion:For patients with condylar fractures meet the standard conservative treatment, intermaxillary traction is an effective treatment. It can avoid unnecessary surgical traumaand the risk of complications, and reduce suffering and economic burden of patients.Suggest placing the jaw pads on the last teeth with normal eruption and occlusion contact, and the traction is as far as possible in front tooth, forward and medial inclination properly.
