Objective By evaluating the effect of on-the-job training for general practitioners and its influencing factors in Anhui Province, the researcher try to probe into the problems of it, and put forward the measures of improvement, as well as provide the reference frame and suggestions for the personnel training of general practitioner.Methods The researcher got the scientific data about the trainees and community agencies through questionnaire survey and qualitative interview, and also gathered the general data of the training. The4grade evaluation model of Keshi was used to evaluate the effect of on-the-job training for general practitioners. The frequency distribution, constituent ratio and trend χ2test were applied to assess the conversion zone of on-the job training namely the student satisfaction. Logistic regression was used to explore the influencing factors. Comprehensive evaluation was made about the behaviour-modification of students after training by the method of360feedback evaluation in Anhui Province.Results There were84.2%of the participants who expressed a willingness of participating in training actively. At the same time, they regarded the practicability and significance of training content as the most important factors which influenced their training willingness. The majority of students understood and accepted the primary medical theories and relative knowledge, and began to pay attention to cultivate the general medicine ideas. There were57%of the participants who reported the learning of all medical knowledge transformation for general practitioners as the main purpose of training. However, the contradiction between learning and working was still prominent, which greatly influenced the training effects. It was also the primary factor influenced their leaders’attitude of taking part in the training.The Ratio of respondent’s satisfaction on training is52.6%and the ratio of dissatisfaction is9.9%. The sequence from high to low of the satisfaction ratios of6specific aspects of training evaluation is:Training Materials(61.7%), Training Content(50.4%), Teaching Program(46.9%), Course Arrangement(42.7%), Training Management(38.2%) and Teaching Level(34.2%); The sequence from high to low of the dissatisfaction ratios is:Teaching Level (14.3%), Training Management(14.0%), Training Content(8.9%), Teaching Program(6.9%), Training Materials(6.4%) and Course Arrangement(5.5%).The theoretical teaching for general practitioners achieved the better short-term effect, and the eligible rate were85.6%, which was positively correlated with academic, negatively with age. While no statistical significance was found between different professional titles by the analysis of influencing factors.On the evaluation of behavior-modification after training, all the respondents identified with positive effects of training. They admitted that the training improved their behavior-modification, especially in the ability and consciousness of community health service to a certain extent. However, according to the outpatients’ view, the participants didn’t implement the general practice philosophy effectively in the practice of diagnosis and treatment.Conclusion General Practitioner trainees had a high satisfaction with training. Their ability of service, especially in the basic public health service, was improved greatly. However, there were still some problems about training. For example, the teaching level was low; the teaching management was not effective; the teaching content had no pertinence; the contradiction between working and learning was prominent and the students couldn’t ensure the effective implementation of general practice philosophy and diagnosis thinking. We should take corresponding measures to improve the quality of training.
