ObjectiveThe author intended to carry out comparative analysis on understanding between doctors and patients in the following several aspects:current situation of medical safety and influencing factors, medical security problems, the prevention and solution methods of medical security, present status of medical services and influencing factors, and so on. We wanted to discuss reasons for differences, and then got some active and effective suggestions to improve medical safety and medical satisfaction.MethodsWe carried out a questionnaire survey of110physician and307Patients in the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical College. And then, we mainly used the methods as follows:document analysis, questionnaire method and statistical approach such as Chi-square test.ResultsBoth sides of doctors and patients were agreed with present situation of medical safety. And the number of people was more than90%, both of doctors and patients. About the problems in medical safety, the highest rate that the both two sides choose was "medical service needs to be improved, and it is necessary to strengthen the doctor-patient communication". And "it is not getting the point of management level, and there existed insufficient supervision in the administrative department" was secondly. There is significant difference in the choice of both doctors and patients (0.001<p<0.05).About the reasons of medical dispute,61.8%of doctors were due to medical system problems, while44.6%of patients were attributed to medical staffs responsibility. There existed significant differences.About the influence factors of medical safety, Doctors choose a higher proportion of "the iatrogenic factors" and "organizational management", while highest proportion of patients choose "medical technology". There existed significant differences.There also existed significant differences in evaluation of medical service status between doctors and patients(p<0.001).68.2%doctors ware not satisfied with medical service status, compared to36.8%of patients. The doctors and patients both believed that treatment effect was still the most important influence of the satisfaction of patients, while the service attitude was also an important factor.ConclusionBoth doctors and patients should be aware of the different understanding exists, and we should have a correct understanding. We should change concept of medical safety management, which considering system reason to avoid malpraxis. Strengthen the medical personnel training in order to improve the quality of medical service. Pay attention to the rights and feelings of the medical staff. And provide psychological support for them. We all should have transposition thinkings to constructing the harmonious doctor-patient relationship.
