Objective: To investigate the expression of signal transducer and activator oftranscription3(STAT3)、estrogen receptor(ER) and progesterone receptor(PR) innormal endometrial(include endometrial hyperplasia and normal endometrial fromSurgical specimens of Hysteromyoma) and to analyze their relationships betweenthe expressions and the clinical pathological factors in endometrial carcinoma, study the correlation between the expression of STAT3、ER and PR. In order toreveal the role of STAT3in development、invasion、transformation of endometrialcarcinoma and the relationships among STAT3、ER and PR. It can provide basis indiagnosis and prognosis of endometrial carcinoma, and a new therapeutic targetsfor treatment. Methods:Immunohistochemical technique was used to detect theexpression of STAT3, ER and PR in50cases of endometrial carcinoma and10cases of normal endometrium(include5cases of endometrial hyperplasia tissuesand5cases of normal endometrial tissues from Surgical specimens of Hysteromyoma),in order to compare the relationship of STAT3、ER、PR indifferent endometrium, analysis the relationship of the expression of STAT3、ER、PR and endometrial carcinoma in FIGO staging、histological grade、muscular layerinfiltrating and Lymph node metastasis. Finally, we can reveal its correlationamong the Expression of STAT3、ER and PR in Human Endometrial Carcinoma. To compare comparison of rate, we use Chi-square test. Rank correlation test wasused to do Correlation analysis. The statistically significant level is P<0.05.Results: The positive expression rate of STAT3, ER and PR was64%,62%,50%in endometrial carcinoma tissues respectively, significantlydifferent from that in normal endometrium tissues with the positive rate being20%,100%,100%respectively(P<0.05).The expression of STAT3and ER wasclosely related to histological grade,FIGO stage, lymph node metastasis inendometrial carcinoma. The expression of PR was associated with histologicalgrade, FIGO stage, but not with lymph node metastasis in endometrial carcinoma. The expression of all the three proteins had no relationship with age. Positivecorrelation was found between the expression the expression of STAT3and PR (rs=0.417,P=0.003),but not between the expression of STAT3and ER(rs=0.271,P=0.057)in endometrial carcinoma. Conclusion:1. The expression ofSTAT3was obviously higher than normal endometrial(include endometrialhyperplasia and normal endometrial from Surgical specimens ofHysteromyoma). This suggest that the expression of STAT3maybe associatedwith the occurrence and development of endometrial carcinoma. It may be provide a treatment of endometrial carcinoma with new molecular therapeutic target.2.The expression of STAT3had relationship with histological grade, FIGO stage, lymph node metastasis in endometrial carcinoma. This reveals that STAT3may beassociated with malignant、metastasis、prognosis of endometrial carcinoma. Thedetection for STAT3, ER and PR may be helpful for evaluating biologicalbehaviors and prognosis of patients with endometrial carcinoma.3.Positivecorrelation was found between the expression the expression of STAT3andPR,but not between the expression of STAT3and ER in endometrial carcinoma. We can speculate that the expression of STAT3might be regulated by progestin, but the activation process has nothing to do with the ER.
