Background and objective:Invasive Thymoma extending into superior vena cava and atrium is rarely encountered in clinical practice, and the unstable homodynamic, embolism risk and other severe symptoms were reported. But there is no consensus on the treatment of it now.Methods:Two cases of invasive thymoma with the superior vena cava and heart invaded underwent the surgeries and followed by radiotherapy.Results:Thymoma and the tumor in the superior vena cava and right atrium were removed under cardiopulmonary bypass with reconstruction of superior vena cava and atrium, and both two patients’ prognosis are excellent.Conclusion:Surgical resection under cardiopulmonary bypass is a safe treatment for the patients with invasive thymoma extending into the superior vena cava and right atrium.
