Objective: The paper used Envision two-step immunohistochemical staining techniqueto detect the expressions of estrogen receptor(ER) and progesterone receptor(PR) and Ki-67that is an important marker of cell proliferation in uterine leiomyoma,to research thecorrelation between the expression of ER,PR,Ki-67and uterine leiomyomas and analysiswhether expression of ER,PR,Ki-67in uterine leiomyomas is correlative or not,to exploreER,PR,Ki-67in the the role of the occurrence and development of uterine leiomyomas,tofurther research the relation between the expression of ER,PR,Ki-67and the diameter,numberand location of the uterine leiomyomas to know ER,PR and Ki-67in the role of theoccurrence and development of the different clinical types of uterine leiomyoma, in order toprovide specific theoretical guidance for the non-operative therapy for uterine fibroids.Methods: Envision two-step immunohistochemical staining technique was used todetect the expressions of ER,PR,Ki-67in61examples of uterine leiomyoma and30examplesof their corresponding normal myometrium tissue.Applying spss17.0software was used fordata statistics and correlation analysis.Rsults:(1) ER,PR,Ki-67all had the different degree of positive expression rates not onlyin the group of uterine leiomyoma but also in their corresponding myometrium.(2)Theexpression of PR:The30examples of uterine leiomyoma all had positive expression of PR,thepositive rates of the expressions of PR in uterine leiomyomas were100%,the29examples ofcorresponding myometrium had positive expression of PR,and those of the correspondingmyometrium were96.67%.The expression of P R in uterine leiomyomas was higher thantheir corresponding normal myometrium organization,with significant statistical difference(P<0.0005).(3)The expression of ER:The15examples of uterine leiomyoma had positiveexpression of ER,the positive rates of the expressions of ER in uterine leiomyomas were50%,the13examples of corresponding myometrium had positive expression of ER, and thoseof the corresponding myometrium were43.33%.The expression of ER between in uterineleiomyomas and their corresponding normal myometrium organization had no significantdiffereneces(P>0.05).(4)The expression of Ki-67:The expressions of Ki-67in3examples ofuterine leiomyoma was high proliferative index,the rest of uterine leiomyoma was lowproliferative index,the expressions of Ki-67in2examples of corresponding myometrium washigh proliferative index, the rest of corresponding myometrium was low proliferativeindex.The expression of Ki-67between in uterine leiomyomas and their correspondingnormal myometrium organization had no significant differeneces(P>0.05).(5)The expressionof ER and PR in uterine leiomyomas with diameter greater than5centimeter was higher than those in uterine leiomyomas, whose diameter was less than or equal to5centimeter,withstatistical difference (P<0.05).The expression of ER,PR in uterine leiomyomas were notrelated to their quantities and location (P>0.05).The expression of Ki-67in uterineleiomyomas were not related to their diameter, quantities and location(P>0.05).(6)Thecorrelation were not found among the expression of ER,PR,Ki-67in uterine leiomyomas(P>0.05).Conclusion:(1)ER,PR,Ki-67had the positive expression in uterine leiomyoma andnormal myometrium organization.(2)The expression of PR in uterine leiomyomas wasobviously higher than that in corresponding normal myometrium organization,indicating thatPR was related to the formation of the uterine leiomyomas.(3)The expression of ER,PR inuterine leiomyomas were obviously related to their diameter,so the diameter of the uterineleiomyomas may become the sensitive indicator as predicting antagonistic treatment forER,PR, and may have important guiding significance to forecasting curative efficacy of theendocrine therapy.(4)The expression of ER,PR in uterine leiomyomas were not related to theirquantities and location,therefore,it was no significance that the quantity and location ofuterine leiomyomas were used to evaluate curative efficacy of the endocrine therapy.(5)Because Ki-67is a kind of benign tumor, as a kind of nuclear antigen related to cellproliferation. It was no significance that Ki-67was used to judge the growth and developmentof uterine leiomyomas,(6) Among the expression of ER,PR and Ki-67in uterine leiomyomashad not correlation.
