Objective: To evaluate the effection of molar distalization with mini-implantanchorage device, seeking better anchorage device. Methods: thirty patients withmalocclusion treated by molar distalization, of which15were with mini-implantanchorage device(group A), and the other15were with Nance arch anchorage(group B).boys were13, and girls were17, with a range of age from10to14,(average age11.6).some data in lateral cephalometric radiographs and study model were measure andcompared before and after treatment of molar distalization, the distalization value andanchorage controlling being analysed. Results: U1-SN, U1-NA, of group B were4.433±1.442°,3.933±1.359°bigger respectively than those of group A (t=7.497, P﹤0.05),(t=8.629, P﹤0.05), and the differences were statistically significant. molar averagedistalization of group A is0.809±0.071(mm/m) bigger than that of group B,(t=6.948, P﹤0.05), and the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion: A preliminaryclinical observation showed that the application of micro-implant anchorage is an efficienttechnique for molar distalization, and enable to release crowding and align dentitionwithout extraction of teeth, moreover with a accessible anchorage, which is worthy ofapplying appropriately. |
