Objective:To research the interrelation between Type2diabetes patients withHearing Loss and Microvascular relevant factors, such as advanced glycation end products(AGEs) and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF).Methods:The levels of AGEsand VEGF were determined by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in49patie-pnts with T2DM with hearing loss (group A),55patients with T2DM without hearing loss(group B),and47healthy subjects (group C). Results:Body mass index (BMI),totalcholesterol (TC),and uric acid(UA)were not significantly different among three groups (P>0.05),while fasting glucose(FPG),HbA1c,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),riglycerides (TG),plasma fibrin(FIB),AGEs and VEGF showed significant differences(P <0.05).Compared with C group,FPG,HbA1c,LDL-C,TG,FIB,AGEs and VEGF Signify-cantly increased in both A and B groups (P<0.05).AGEs and VEGF increased in A groupcompared with B group (P<0.05).In T2DM with hearing loss,AGEs were positively corre-lated with FPG,LDL-C, HbA1c and duration of diabetes (P<0.05).VEGF was positively correlated with FPG, HbA1c,FIB and duration of diabetes (P<0.05).Conclusion:AGEs andVEGF are related with the occurrence and development of T2DM accompanied withhearing loss.AGEs and VEGF may be used as indicators for the early diagnosis and prong-osis of the condition....
