Research Of Self-developing Tendon-bone Anastomasis Device And Taking Animal Experiment On Repairing Distal Tendon

Objective: Self-develop a Tendon-Bone Anastomasis Device and take animal experiment onrepairing distal tendon with it，proves a new way for the treatment of tendon injuries and thenProvides preliminary experimental basis for its further clinical application.Methods：36adult New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into three groups (12pergroup):Tendon-Bone Anastomasis Device repairing group (A), Steel Wire repairing group (B) andBone Anchor repairing group(C). All experimental animals were repaired after establishing thedistal patellar ligament injury model. To observe the activity of the rabbits’ limb after operation.4samples from each group were acquired after2,4and8weeks respectively for observing healingbetween distal patellar ligament and Tibial tubercle, calculating healing area, researching cellgrowth such as fibroblast, chondrocyte, and collagen through histological test.Results： All rabbits in experiment were healthy survived except two cases of group A forwound skin necrosed, and one of them was death. The activity difference of rabbits’ limb amongthe3groups were not significant. Results of measuring the healing area between distal patellartendon and tibial tubercle：In the second week，group A:20.18±3.45mm~2, group B:13.91±3.46mm~2and group C:10.79±2.78mm~2.The healing area of group A was greater significantly than groupB and group C (p <0.05); In the fourth week, group A:37.24±3.60mm~2, group B:31.56±2.54mm~2,group C:29.11±5.27mm~2, group A still has the largest healing area among the three groups(p <0.05);In the eighth week, the healing area were:38.98±3.03mm~2,34.28±4.71mm~2and33.83±6.87mm~2for the group A,group B and group C,respectively, It was clear that the differenceof healing area among the three groups was not very obvious (p>0.05). Fibroblasts，chondrocytesand collagen of group A and group B in number more than group C at weeks2,4by Histologicaltest, there were no significant difference in cell number and cell types at8weeks（p＞0.05）. Conclusion：1. Tendon-bone Anastomasis Device as well as Steel Wire and BoneAnchor can be used to repair the damage of the tendon end.2. Tendon-bone Anastomasis Device makes repairing operation more convenientcomparing with Steel Wire,it offers more healing area in early period comparing with bone anchor.
