| ObjectiveThe expression of N-cadherin, E-cadherin and p63protein in poor-differentiated,middle-differentiated and high-differentiated cervical squamous cells cancer, andnormal cervical tissues will be illustrated, in terms of which the relationships betweenthese proteins and cervical squamous cells cancer will be analyzed at all stages in theirevolutions. And then it is necessary to investigate how patients’ ages, tissuedifferentiations, clinic stages, lymphatic metastases and postoperative surveysinfluence the expression of these proteins and their clinical significances.MethodImmuohistochemistry was used to detect the expressions of N-cadherin, E-cadherinand p63in131cervical spuamous cell carcinoma and30normal cervical tissues.Thecorrelation between expressions of E-cadherinã€N-cadherin and p63and clinicopathological parameters will be test by χ2statistics, which also tests the correlationsamong the three. How the expressions of the genes influence the survival rates can beestimated by Kaplan-Meier method.Result(1)N-cadherin has no expression in normal squamous tissues, but the strongly positiverate of expression in high-differentiated cervical cancer is25%(5/20), that in middle-differentiated is9.7%(6/62), and is38.8%(19/49)in poor-differentiated. And theexpression of N-cadherin in poor is significantly higher than that in middle and high and normal cervical tissues, and this difference is significant (P<0.05).(2) E-cadherin has strongly positive expression in normal cervical tissues, the positiverate of expression in high-differentiated cervical cancer is75%(15/20), those are38.7%(24/62)and0(0/49)respectively in middle-differentiated and low. And theexpression of E-cadherin in high is significantly higher than that in middle and low,and this difference is significant (P<0.05).(3) p63has strongly positive expression in normal cervical tissues, the positive rate ofexpression in high-differentiated cervical cancer is100%(20/20), those are30.6%(19/62) and2.0%(1/49) respectively in middle-differentiated and low. And theexpression of E-cadherin in high is significantly higher than that in middle and low,and this difference is significant (P<0.05).(4) The positive rates of expression of N-cadherin, E-cadherin and p63significantlydepend on all factors as tissue differentiations, clinic stages, lymphatic metastases andpostoperative recurrence, but patients’ ages.(5) The patients with N-cadherin strongly positive expression has shorter survivaltime than negative ones, conversely for ones with E-cadherin and p63.Conclusion(1) The low expression of E-cadherin, p63and high expression of N-cadherin may playa role in cervical cancer carcinogenesis and transferation.(2) The low expression of E-cadherin, p63and high expression of N-cadherin may playa role in evaluation of cervical squamous cell carcinoma. |
