Objective:To analyze the relations between Sasang constitutions of traditional Korean Medicine and the minimum latency of F-wave induced from peroneal nerve by electrical stimulation and to clarify the differences of nervous functions between types of Sasang constitutions. Methods:This experiment is conducted at a laboratory, which is located in College of traditional Chinese Medicine of Yanbian University, from January2011to October2012.①The subjects are1000healthy volunteers of426male and573female, with18-34years age. None of subiects has had a medical history of nervous system diseases and sensory disturbance of limbs extremities. The experiment is conducted at a laboratory under about temperature26degrees.②First, volunteers fill in question table about Sasang discrimination in traditional Korean medicine and lifestyle questionnaire. The question table is basically made out from 《The East Medicine Shou Shi Bao Yuan》 by LI ji-ma in consultation with the classical works of Korean Medicine, such as《Si Xiang Zhen LiaoYi Dian》 and 《The East Medicine Si Xiang Xin Pian)). The discrimination is performed by methods of looking, smelling, asking and pulse-feeling, details of the question content are such as:features, somatotype, muscle, gait, five sense organs, sound, temperament, character, susceptility to disease, etc.③Next, according to the table filled in, personal profiles about discrimination are detailedy sorted out by written form.④Last, several Korean Medicine experts, after reading the detailed materials, personally observe a subject via appearances, skeletals, muscles etc, and with their experiences, judge Sasang’s type of the subject, which means that the subject belongs to one type, that is, Taiyin, Shaoyin, Taiyang or Shaoyang.⑤The ratios of Taiyin, Shaoyin, Taiyang and Shaoyang and Sex ratios in one type of Sasang are counted⑥F-wave of right and left peroneal nerve of1000subjects are detected, and conduction Parameters of peripheral nerve are sorted by type of Sasang to compare with each other.⑦In every types of Sasang, peroneal nerve of F-Lat>50ms, not induced F-wave and appearing A-wave are detected to calculate the ratio in their types.⑧General materials and experimental data are processed by variance analysis, and the variance with P<0.05is usable in statistics. Between types, comparing-number data of nerve with extension of F-wave Latency, not induced F-wave and appearing A-wave are tested by chi-square, and the variance with P<0.05is usable in statistics and compared between one type of Sasang and another by SPSS21.0software.⑨To know well about peripheral nerve conduction parameters of every types of Sasang, including F-Lat, potential damage rate, A-wave appearing rate etc is to find out the differences of peripheral nerve myelin sheath and axon functions between types and vulnerability.⑩According to the knowledge which types of Sasang easily recieve nerve latent injury, it is possible to clarify the correlation between the type of Sasang and its nerve injury rate or injury locations. Results:①sex ratio of the total(%):Taiyang person:male0.7, female0.5; Shaoyang person:male6.7, female10.4; Taiyin person:male24.5, female29.8; Shaoyin person:male10.7, female16.6.②comparison of body weight by one-to-one in Four constitution types:Taiyin person clearly weightier than Shaoyang person and Shaoyin person (P<0.01), variance with P<0.01usable in statistics in any types; comparison of body height by one-to-one in Four constitution types:variance usable in statistics between Taiyin person and Shaoyang person, and between Taiyin person and Shaoyin person (P<0.01)③extended length of the minimum latency of F-wave: Taiyin person longer than Shaoyin person and Shaoyang person; about right side of body:Taiyin person longer than Shaoyin person and Shaoyang person (P<0.05), but left side of body:Taiyin person longer than only Shaoyin person(P<0.01).④number of nerve from which F-Wave is induced out:Taiyang person23, Shaoyang person314, Taiyin person1003, Shaoyin person529; variance between Taiyin person and Shaoyang person, and between Taiyin person and Shaoyin person (P<0.01).⑤comparisons of nerve number in which the minimum latency of F-wave is extended with variance above50ms in each type:about left side of body:between Taiyin person and Shaoyin person, between Shaoyang person and Shaoyin person, between Taiyyang person and Shaoyin person, between Shaoyang person and Taiyin person; and about right side of body:between Taiyin person and Shaoyin person, between Shaoyang person and Shaoyin person.⑥in every types of Sasang, number of nerve in which F-Wave is not induced and its percentage(%):Taiyang person1(0.0), Shaoyang person29(1.5), Taiyin person84(4.2), Shaoyin person19(6.7).⑦in every types of Sasang, frequency of A-Wave occurences is the highest in Taiyin person (P<0.05).⑧in every types of Sasang, comparison of nerve number in which the minimum latency of F-wave is extended with A-wave occurences has useless variance (P>0.05).Conclusion:1. in all types of Sasang, the number of Taiyin person is the most, that is,54%, Shaoyin person27%, Shaoyang person17%, Taiyang person1%.2. in all types of Sasang, the minimum latency of F-wave is extended in Taiyin person.3. in all types of Sasang, nerve of Taiyin is most injured.
