Objective:To explore the association of polymorphisms of BC+1and F+1locus allele in ADAM33gene and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in the Chinese Han population from Shanxi Province.Methods:The100healthy controls (control group)、103COPD subjects (case group) were detected by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and gene sequencing, the association of ADAM33Gene BC+1and F+1polymorphisms with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and the pulmonary function were analyzed. Results:About the BC+l,the frequencies of the genotypes (AA, AG, GG) were17.0%,56.0%,27.0%in the control group, and15.5%、45.6%、38.8%in the case group, there no significant difference between genotype frequencies(χ2=3.295, P>0.05). The frequencies of the alleles (A, G) were45.5%、55.0%in the control group, and38.3%、61.7%in the case group, there was no significant difference (χ2=1.847, P>0.05)About the F+1, the frequencies of the genotypes (AA, AG, GG)were7.0%、51.0%、42.0%in the control group, and20.4%、38.8%、40.8%in the case group, respectively, showing a significant difference between genotype frequencies (χ2=8.287, P<0.05). The frequen-cies of the alleles (A, G) were32.5%、67.5%in the control group, and39.8%、60.2%in the case group, there was no significant difference (χ2=2.345, P>0.05)About the association of polymorphisms F+1locus allele in ADAM33gene and the pulmonary function, among the3genotypes of F+1sites,we can find there were significant difference in the FEV1/FVC(%)(F=2.837, P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in the ppFEV1(F=0.396, P<0.05)Conclusion:We could not found the polymorphism of BC+1locus allele in ADAM33gene has no association with the susceptibility to COPD in Chinese Han population from Shanxi Province. But the polymorphism of F+1locus allele has associated with the susceptibility to COPD;,and it may be associated with the pulmonary function.
