| Objective: To evaluate the apical microleakage by Roekoseal as root canal sealerafter root canal filling.Methods:48straight single root canal teeth were prepared by crown-downtechnique, and divided into four experimental groups of12teeth each. Then cold lateralcondensation technique was used to fill all the root canals. Group A, B, C and D werefilled respectively with gutta-percha using different root canal sealers, which wereCortisomol, AH-Plus, self-solidified phosphoric-calcium aritificial bone and Roekoseal. After that, the apical microleakage were tested using Indian ink and transparent teethtechnique. Meanwhile, ultrastructural evaluation between filling materials and dentinwall of remaining2teeth of each experimental group were observed under scanningelectron microscope. Results: The statistics analysis showed a statistically difference between group Dand A, D and B, D and C (P<0.05). And there was no statistically difference betweengroup A, B and C. Scanning electron microscope revealed that the group D had the besttight bonding between the sealer and dentin wall among the four groups. Conclusions: Roekoseal used as root filling material with gutta-percha couldeffectively reduce apical microleakage. And it has a better sealing ability thanCortisomol/gutta-percha,AH-Plus/gutta-percha and self-solidified phosphoric-calciumaritificial bone/gutta-percha. |
