Objective:The aim of this paper is to estimate the prevalence of obesity and metabolicsyndrome among adolescent students in Yinchuan, and to explore the correlation ofcomponents of metabolic syndrome, inflammatory factors, insulin resistance with obesity. Methods:Randomly selected nine schools from primary school, and middle school inthe three districts of Yinchuan(Xingqing, Jinfeng, Xixia) with stratified cluster sampling, andthen randomly selected classes in each grade from the extracted schools.A total of10648students from nine schools were selected randomly with the method of multi-phase-stratified-cluster sampling and were measured for anthropometry index. The blood biochemical indexesof the students who were screened obese, overweight, normal children1:1:1pairing thensigned the informed consent of fasting blood samples will be measured by Chinese school-agechildren teenagers overweight obesity screening BMI classification. In this study, theindicators to compare the detection rate by χ~2test, compared with the biochemical indexes ofmean by block design analysis of variance test. Results:The total detection rate of overweight, obesity, abdominal obesity were12.9%,6.7%, and15%, then the detection rate in the trend between the ages. The boys’ detection rateof overweight and obesity is higher than girls, and the abdominal obesity rate is lower thangirls. The detection rate of overweight, obesity, abdominal obesity in Han is higher than thatin Hui. The total detection rate of MS was0.9%, the MS detection rate of boys is1.28%andgirls is0.51%; The detection rate of MS in Han is higher than that in Hui; In the differentBMI groups, the detection rate of MS in the obese group is highest, the rate is9.7%, and thenormal group rate is lowest. In the block design of case-control studies, the detection rate of abdominal obesity was81.9%in obese group,39.6%in overweight group,2.8%in normalgroup, among the different BMI groups. The detection rate of MS was19.9%in obesegroup,4.7%in overweight group,0.3%in normal group, among the different BMI groups.Abnormal detection rate of the components of MS was the highest in obesity group, amongthe different BMI groups. Abnormal detection rate of WHtR was that the rate in obese groupis79.1%, in overweight group is24.3%, in normal group is1.6%, among the different BMIgroups. The detection rate of abnormal Hs-CRP was7.2%in obese group,4.7%in overweightgroup,2.8%in normal group, among the different BMI groups. The detection rate of abnormalHOMA-IR was58.5%in obese group,44.8%in overweight group,33.0%in normal group, among the different BMI groups. Conclusion:Overweight, obesity, abdominal obesity rate was gradually rising trend inYinchuan, the prevention and control of childhood obesity and the metabolic syndromeoccurred imperative. The investigation of obesity and components of metabolic syndrome, inflammatory factors, insulin resistance to provide a scientific basis for the prevention andcontrol of the occurrence of MS. In the work of prevention and control of obesity and MS,regular testing of children and adolescents, blood pressure, blood biochemical parameters, timely detection the outlier factor associated with MS, and prevention and control of the rootcauses of MS occurs is critical.
