Objective: To study the expression of RORγt and IL-17in Oral Lichen Planus(OLP) andNormal Oral Mucosa(NOM) tissues in protein levels, and explore their differences andcorrelations in this two groups, which will provide new strategies and theoretical basis ofOLP’s therapy.Methods:30cases of OLP that were confirmed by clinical and pathologic manifestationswithout systematic treatment during three months, and excluding other systematic diseases;30cases of NOM were selected as experimental group controlled. Usingimmunohistochemistry to detect the positive cells of RORγt and IL-17and counting the cellnumbers in situs. The differences and correlations were analyzed by SPSS Statistic analysissoftware.Results:(1)Immunohistochemistry showed that the RORγt positive cells were locating innuclear or cytoplasm, mainly in nuclear. Cells of OLP group were distributed in stratumBasele compared to normal group that cells were located in lamina propria and epitheliallayer. And also RORγt of OLP group were positively expressed in lamina propria. Nosignificant difference was observed in expression of RORγt in the normal oral mucosa andOLP’ epithelial lamina (P>0.05), while there was a significant difference in the laminapropria(P<0.05);(2)The positive expression of IL-17in the normal oral cavity mucousepithelium layer which distribute mainly in cuticular layer, stratum granulosum and part ofstratum spinosum, whereas a small amount of cells were expressed in the mesenchyme andthe positive staining mainly distributed in cytoplasm. The positive expression of IL-17in theOLP tissue located in epithelium layer and mainly distributed in the laminae propria. And asignificant difference was observed between normal group and lesion group(P<0.05).Conclusions:(1)RORγt and IL-17involved in the development of OLP;(2)RORγt may directly or indirectly induce the secretion of IL-17...
