Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the apoB/apoA-I ratio innonobese patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS).Methods One hundred and eighteen nonobese patients with OSAS and118age,gender and BMI matched healthy individuals without signs and symptoms ofapnea-hypopnea received biochemistry analysis. Results In nonobese OSAS group, the apoB/apoA-I ratio (0.82±0.256),apoB[(0.95±0.229)g/L], TG[(1.53±0.912) mmol/L] were higher than controlgroup[(0.70±0.200),(0.88±0.202) g/L,(1.21±0.597) mmol/L](P<0.05), andHDL-C[(1.09±0.301) mmol/L] were lower compared with control group[(1.18±0.274)mmol/L](P<0.05). After controlling for BMI, the apoB/apoA-I ratio was correlatedwith AHI(partial correlation coefficient=0.498, P<0.05).Conclusions OSAS can induce lipid metabolism disorder in nonobese patients andthe apoB/apoA-I ratio was correlated with severity of OSAS.
