At present, there is a gap between the number of Cordyceps and related genera havebeen reported around the world and which have been recorded in China. So it exists highpotential for investigation of Cordyceps sensu lato resource in China.Isaria cicadae is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine, and it mainly found inbamboo forest. It is abundant in bamboo resources in China. Currently, I. cicadae and itallies’ relationship is confusion, and the researches on the entomegenous fungi in thebamboo forest was little or have not yet been paied more enough importance. And Anhuiprocince is located in the lower reaches of Yangtze and Huaihe river, across the warmtemperate zone and subtropical, it has relatively abundant bamboo resources. So, wechosed three different bamboo forests, located in Guniujiang National Geopark, Fozilingand Langya mountain, from Anhui province for investigation of Cordyceps and its allies.This investigation is useful for more understanding, better protection, further developmentand utilization of these fungi resources.Morphological identification is usually used for the identification of Cordyceps and itsallies. The teleomorph mainly identified from the host, the stroma, the shapes and sizes ofperithecia, ascus, ascospore and secondary ascospore. The anamorph mainly identifiedfrom the colony morphology on different culture media and the condiogenous structuresand its conida. And through ITS sequences of the entomegenous fungi can confirm thecertain identification. The main results are reported as follows:The main species of Cordyceps and its allies in bamboo forest of Guniujiang NationalGeopark are: Cordyceps cicadae, C. kanzashiana, Isaria cicadae, I. tenuipes, Beauveriabassiana, B. brongniartii and I. cateniannulata.The main species of Cordyceps and its allies in bamboo forest of Foziling are: Isariacicadae, Beauveria bassiana and B. brongniartii.The main species of Cordyceps and its allies in bamboo forest of Langya mountainare: Ophiocordyecps sobolifera, O. gracilioides, Isaria cicadae, I. tenuipes, Beauveriabassiana and Metarhizium cylindrosporae.Isaria cicadae is the most dominant species in bamboo forest, and we explored theoccurrence rules and cycle of it. And the distribution of different species of host wasstudied.Cordyceps kanzashiana was a new record in China, and it had only been reported inJapan before. The strain isolated from Cordyceps cicadae was not its anamorph, but the isolate wasvery similar to anamorph of C. kanzashiana. And we also collected C. kanzashiana in thissample plot, so we suspected that the hyperparasite lived on C. cicadae.We explored the anamorph of O. sobolifera, and it was clearly known that theanamorph of O. sobolifera should belong to the genus Hirsutella.
