| Oat is a main annual forage in Tibetan plateau and surrounding high altitude area,it plays an important role in animal husbandry production. However there is no muchresearch on oat production and processing in china. The field experiment was carriedout from April2011to October2012in Xiahe, Gannan Tibetan AutonomousPrefecture, Gansu Province. The productivity and nutritive quality of different oatvarieties were studied. The influence of different cutting timeã€drying methodsã€moisture contents and drying thickness on oat hay yield and quality was investigated. The main research results are as follows:(1) Entropy weight-based gray systematic theory was used for evaluating theadaptability of6oat varieties in Xiahe, the comprehensive scores were manifested asLongyan No.2>Longyan No.3>Baiyan No.2>Longyan No.1>Denmark444>QO245-7.Longyan No.2ã€Longyan No.3and Baiyan No.2had the higher comprehensive scores, and were suitable for further extension in Xiahe.(2) The hay yield of3oat varieties were highest at grain filling stage, with anaverage of10057.86kg/hm2,52.71%higher than at flowering stage. The CP was thehighest at flowering stage, with an average of11.48%; followed by grain filling stage,with11.09%. The peaks of CPã€EE yields appeared at grain filling stage, reached1104.34kg/hm2and283.53kg/hm2, respectively, significantly higher than the other3stages. The optimal cutting time of oat was grain filling stage.(3) Among4drying methods, FDC and NFDC gave better performance, and theCP and EE of FDC under high water content reached11.16%and2.96%, respectively, significantly higher than CK.(4) Due to low temperature in fall and winter in alpine pastoral areas, higherwater content helped to improve oat hay quality and palatability, meanwhile did notcause mould. So FDC with27%-30%water content was the optimal treatment.(5) Drying thickness of6cm can effectively shorten drying time, and the oatquality of FDC and NFDC reached first class. FDC was the best at13cm drying thickness. In a word, oat varieties with high adaptability and high yield and quality weresuitable for hay production cutting at grain filling stage. High yield and quality haycan be achived when baled at27%-30%moisture under FDC treatment. |
