| Wheat powdery mildew, which is caused by an obligate parasite, is one of the most severe wheat diseases worldwide, especially in china. Wheat output can be decreased as much as5%to10%in average years and reaching up to30%when it seriously happened. Theoretically, resistance selection is the most economic and effective method to deal with the disease. However, there is nearly no fine wheat varieties which are resistance to the disease being widely applied. At present, there were merely about20resistant genes to powdery mildew which had been located and identified. Besides, physiological races of powdery mildew vary constantly. Therefore, it is quite a tough work to prevent and control the widespread disease. There are a series of advantages, including environmentally friendly, low-residual, having low risk of producing resistance to drugs and no damage to host plant, for bio-control disease to apply to disease control. Thus, beneficial microorganisms have become the research hotspot for plant pathologists in the international world, especially those who devoted to wheat powdery mildew. Bacillus CC09, which is a kind of antagonistic bacterium extracted from camphor tree, provides an excellent approach for experts to the bio-control of wheat powdery mildew. This research combined field experiments with pot cultivation and studied the control effect of Bacillus CC09to the disease. Results were found as follows:1. The protective effect of Bacillus CC09to wheat powdery mildew was apparent in greenhouse experiments during seedling stage and the drug could restrain the disease effectively and efficiently. Statistical analysis showed that best control (86.75%) appeared seven days after drug delivering when the drug was diluted4000times. Meanwhile, there was no influence to wheat growth at all.2. Preventive effect of Bacillus CC09to wheat powdery mildew was good in terms of greenhouse experiments during seedling stage. Specifically, best control of drug delivering after incubation period appeared when the drug was diluted1000times, reaching88.89%. The figure of spore production period turned out to be45.48%when the drug was diluted2000times. After application of Bacillus CC09, the disease was decreased effectively and efficiently.3. Bacillus CC09had excellent control effect on wheat powdery mildew in field conditions during adult-plant stage. Discrepancies of control effect among divergent drug concentrations were considerable. Particularly, the best control effect (almost reaching39.74%) happened when the concentration was32ml drugs in1L water. In addition, the control effect could have been improved as a matter fact that the disease was fairly severe when drug delivering.Overall, it can be concluded that Bacillus CC09had great protective and prevention effect on wheat powdery mildew with little side-effect. Combination of field and indoor experiments provided the persuasion of the effect of the drug on this particular disease. |
