Examination and determination for the capacity of technical station is a basic work which must be carried out, and is of great significance to the reasonable organization of transport production and effective allocation of station equipments. Existing research to the sorting capacity is lack of pertinence and depth; this paper will set the sorting capacity as an independent object, and conduct thorough study on the method of examination&determination for original data of sorting capacity, the method for the capacity calculation and leisure coefficient determination as well as software development, etc.This paper put forward to a method to examination and determination for original data of sorting capacity called "semi-automatic examination&determination method". Based on the actual situation of technical station, it designed "switcher dynamic recorded table" as the carrier for original information to guarantee the complete record of the shunting operation process; it also summarized the data sorting process and experience, analyzed several main records of station in detail in order to provide complete information for the original data of sorting capacity examination&determination, and formed a set of complete method of original data sorting at last.In view of the current railway traffic organization mode changes, the paper improved the traditional calculation method of sorting capacity appropriately combining with the research results of previous scholars. It redefined some parameters in the formula, such as the time of "taking-out and placing-in of cars", fixed working time and average time of making up a train, etc, and then it got the new capacity calculation formulas; it got the corresponding calculation formula of make-up capacity through analyzing the hinder coefficient in each stage of a circadian time.It analyzed relative merits among several traditional methods of leisure coefficient determination and dissected its main influence factors.The paper introduced the concept of "3h disequilibrium arrival coefficient", and had quantitative analysis on the influence factors of leisure coefficient with "three parameters interval grey number". Then a new method of leisure coefficient determination had been introduced-the method for leisure coefficient determination based on three parameters gray number interval related degrees. This method transformed the problem into an optimal target issue under the condition of the known factor influence value to each target, through dividing the experience value range of leisure coefficient into a point set with appropriate step, and the example showed that the method is accurate and practical.The architecture design of the "sorting capacity calculation information system for technical station" includes system target, operation process, system module structure, system function design, database logic structure, system interface and menu design, etc. Accuracy and generality as its basic goals, the paper focused on the operation process design, function module, database logic structure, system interface and menu design, to meet the needs of district station and marshalling station with different operation organization and station type.
