With development of automobile industry, high level technology is gradually applied tovehicles. To meet all kinds of new requirements, ride comfort of vehicles has becoming one ofmain performances. Ride comfort of vehicles affects comfort and safety of people whendriving. In order to better study ride comfort of vehicles, with the help of virtual prototypetechnology, vehicle model is established by multi-body dynamics analysis software ADAMS,simulation and optimization has been done with ADAMS.First, theories of ride comfort of vehicles and multi-body dynamics theory have beenstudied. Based on them, a simulation model vehicle model are established in ADAMS/Car, afront and rear suspension model with the damping and spring stiffness properties file areconstructed. Front and rear anti-roll Bars are established with nonlinear discrete form of beam,also the steering system, body, tires are established and assembled for vehicle. Varioussubsystems are connected through communication device.Then, random input road model file and triangular pulse input road model file separatelyare written, and vibration simulation test has been done in virtual test bench. In order to betterstudy the urban road speed bumps on the influence of ride comfort of vehicles, speed bumproad model file input pulses are established, on which simulation test has been done. Thesimulation results are obtained from the above experiment, and post-processing and analysisare studied according to the test of the evaluation standard.Finally, ride comfort of vehicles is optimized in ADAMS/Insight based on ride comfortof vehicles simulation results. Optimization experiment has been done by the response surfacemethod. The minimum target of optimization can be directly got by optimizationsimulation, also the front and rear suspension optimized parameters can be got, and ridecomfort of vehicles has been improved. The ideal results are obtained by virtual simulationexperiment, and the feasibility of this method is verified in vehicle development.
