With the development of world economic, replacement of vehicles and machines isaccelerated and gradually specialized. The good performance of the lubricant oil is animportant factor to ensure normal and stable operation of vehicles and machinery. The key ofthe quality of lubricant performance is the content and performance of lubricant additives,asthe base oil quality is the fundamental and the additives is the essence of lubricants.Traditional lubricant with S, P, Cl system additives has been unable to meet the lubricatingability in extreme pressure, high-speed conditions. Therefore, the development of the newand environmentally friendly lubricant additive is concerned by foreign and domestictribology experts and lubricant tribology research staff.And with the emergence of nano-materials,the small size effect,quantum size effects,interface and surface effects of nano-materials were extensively studied. The unique physicaland chemical properties of nano-materials has opened up a new field in materials science.Nano-materials as a lubricant additive dispalyed excellent lubrication perfoemance. When weadd some of the nanoparticles into lubricating oil, they play a good effect in improvement ofanti-wear, especially in the conditions of heavy-duty, high-speed, high temperature, lowtemperature, and the bad pollution environment.. The product development of basic andapplied research of the nano-materials used in lubricating oil additives is currently animportant topic.On the base of tribology lubrication theory and the special properties of nano-materials, theproperties of nano-materials lubrication is discussed. Ortega fluorine nano lubricant additive,Baishun nano lubricant additive and Bona Shi nano lubricant additive are selected. Theantiwear and friction reducing properties of the three kinds of different combinations are tested by thefour-ball friction tester. The simulating test of pure lubricants and composite lubricant withdifferent quality scores BS nano lubricant additives are conducted. The operation effect ofnano lubricant additives is obtained.The results can be a referance for the selection andapplication of nanomaterials as lubricant additives in projects.
