Currently has been a lot of research on slope stability analysis, but relativelyfew studies on the stability analysis of soft soil slope to slope toe excavation. In thepractical engineering will encounter such problems, therefore,it is important tostudy.Method for analysis of soil slope stability has been relatively mature, numerical simulation analysis is the main method of slope stability analysis, inrecent years, and the strength reduction finite element method is becoming a hotspot of the slope stability analysis. In this paper, for homogeneous soft soil slopetoe of a variety of types of excavation, the ideal elastic-plastic finite element modelwas established,by using the basic principle of strength reduction, using theMohr-Coulomb yield criterion, and by using Midas/GTS software as analysis tool,Mainly for the excavation depth and width;excavation position;slope height、slope、slope geometry on the stability of soft soil slope toe excavation wereanalyzed. And the excavation depth is determined at slope toe excavation processof single-sided and double-sided soft soil slope in the state of critical instability.Taking a ship lock slope for example, Using finite element softwareMidas/GTS and limit equilibrium method of Bishop analyze the stability of soilslope toe excavation, the excavation depth is determined at slope toe excavationprocess of soft soil slope in the state of critical instability;Because of the slopedoes not meet the requirements of the design of foundation excavation depth, engineering uses a certain amount of cutting slope without supporting,at the sametime, the slope horizontal displacement of deep soil were monitored,to ensure thesafety of Construction Engineering, which has a certain guiding significance forsimilar engineering construction.
