The development and application of random signal is more and more important as the human society move into the age with industrialization and informationization. Random signal has been widely used in various fields and different disciplines.This thesis introduces a design scheme of random pulse signal generator based on FPGA, which including the software realization method and hardware implementation method both of random pulse signal producing module and DDS signal producing module. Otherwise, after the statistical test and performance parameter testing to output pulse, perfect random pulse simulated nuclear signal is achieved.Random pulse signal generator design theory is basis on the randomicity of nuclear event itself, statistical fluctuation occurs. This makes nuclear signal taking on Poisson distribution on time and Gaussian distribution on amplitude. The key point of the design is to make simulation signal take on statistical. The design combines the advantage of Verilog, choose EP2C5Q208as the core control chip, by using top-down and hierarchical design method, it passed synthesis, optimization, placement and routing, timing simulation etc. with Quartus II software platform.The thesis’s main achievements are:first, a mathematical model of Random pulse signal generator was build base on the theoretical basis of nuclear pulse and random theory; second, realized the hardware design, which including the system of power supply circuit, clock reset circuit and signal output circuit, software that supporting the system and experimental prototype; third, finish significance testing for output random pulse in experiment. The experiment demonstrates that performance index of random pulse, which is generator simulated nuclear signal in this design, is meeting the need of general experiment.
