As an innovative forming process for High strength steel(HSS), hot stamping withintegrated heating, forming and quenching in one process, can efectively soften the blankand prevent it from cracking and wrinkling. Because of the phase transformation ofaustenite to martensite within the stamping operation, the blank can acquire substantialhigh tensile and yield strength. Under the same safety conditions, HSS can efectively re-duce vehicles weight due to its high specific strength and good comprehensive mechanicalproperties. HSS is widely used in the automotive industry. Automotive front floor(AFF)is one of the key components of the car which located in the front compartment of thecar, plays an important role in the stability, security and comfort. Design the hot stampingmold of AFF and the cooling system, research on the influence law of the crucial pro-cess parameters to the quenching efect. It is of great significance to promotion in thedevelopment of the hot forming process and applications in engineering.Learning from the cold stamping mold design experience, design the hot stampingmold of AFF with CATIA. According to surface characteristics of AFF, design the coolingsystem with the method of a combination of cavity-type and drilling-type. And make itsstrength meet the requirements.In accordance with the principle of fluid dynamics, combined with the theory of con-jugate heat transfer, build the finite element simulation model. Under the multi-processcycle conditions, do the numerical simulation of the AFF in the holding pressure quench-ing stage. Through simulation analysis, verify the rationality of the mold and coolingsystem design. Analyze the influence of the cooling water velocity, holding pressure,holding time, process cycle times to the temperature of the mold and cooling efect. De-termine the reasonable parameters of AFF hot stamping.The studies show that the water velocity, holding pressure, holding time should benot be less than5m/s,30MPa,10s during AFF hot stamping process. And after fiveprocess cycle, the mold temperature tends to stabilization.
