Advanced treatment of secondary effluent from vitamin C wastewater by Apilot-scale experiment was discussed in this paper. The optimal process and reactionconditions were determined, and then the design project about2tons/d of vitamin Cwastewater and the feasibility at technical and economic aspects were evaluated, theresults showed that:1)“Two-stage MCM couped biotreatment+two-stage O3-BAC” was defined as theoptimal process through a pilot-scale experiment, The research indicated that: when thequality of influents was COD173~491mg/L, TN29.5~42.1mg/L, NH3-N7.04~14.2mg/Land TP0.7~3.45mg/L, the removal efficiency of COD, TN, NH3-N and TP were more than85.7%,95.2%,91.2%and98.2%, respectively. Each index of effluent reached the primarystandard level A of discharge standard of pollutants for municipal wastewater treatmentplant (GB18918-2002), this process had characteristics of steady running and powerfulresistance to impact load.2) The design project about2tons/d of vitamin C wastewater was made combiningthe optimal process and reaction conditions on the basis of pilot-scale experiment. Processflow chart, plane arrangement and main structures of the sewage treatment plant weredrafted.3) The total investment of this project was7800×104yuan, and the running cost wasonly2.38yuan/t. This project was estimated to reduce the emissions of COD, NH3-N, TN,TP about3285t/a,620.5t/a,766.5t/a,54.8t/a, respectively. On the condition of goodeconomic effect, high social benefit and high ecological efficiency, the project is feasible.
