In recent years, with the rapid increase of China’s automobile production and retention,the contradiction between supply and demand of domestic oil fuel is further expanded.Therefore, we must to change the pattern of energy consumption through combined withactual situation. In china, the resources of coal are relatively abundant, and it can be used tomake methanol, with has low emissions, high octane, and antiknock. At the same time, themethanol fuel vehicles had been loved by more and more people in many areas. The methanolfuel that is the substitutes of conventional gasoline can reduce the pollutant emissions ofcarbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), total hydrocarbon (THC) and otherconventional, but the concentration of formaldehyde and methanol which are unconventionalexhaust emissions are usual higher than the level of conventional engines,and has a harmfulinfluence on environment and human health. In addition, the content of methanol in methanolfuels is uncertain and the air of methanol fuel gas station and deployment center may becontaining methanol also.In this paper, widely refers to the relevant research results and literatures at home andabroad, focusing on research the test method of the unconventional pollutants, methanolcontent in methanol fuel, and the methanol content in the air.In the aspects of analyzing the test method of the methanol content in methanol fuel, thispaper established several analytical methods, including the gas chromatography that use ofethanol as the internal, SIFT-MS, mid-infrared spectral absorption method and content ofmethanol-aqueous phase rapid detection method. The results show that both of these methodscan be used to detect the content of methanol in the methanol fuel and the test results hasexcellent accuracy and precision. The recovery rate of the gas chromatography andmid-infrared spectral absorption method are between96%to103%, which demonstrate thattheir high precision and accuracy of analysis; SIFT-MS need to analysis the vapors trace ofmethanol fuel, there is a certain error in the testing process. When this is done, quantificationcan be achieved to an accuracy of±15%with reproducibility better than±10%, proved thatthe test results meet the requirements of accurate; the rapid detection is susceptible to theinfluence of ambient temperature, humidity and the moisture content in the test sample. Inaddition, the content of methanol gasoline additive might be interested in test results have acertain impact.Furthermore, the measure method was build to detect the methanol content in the methanol fuel gas station and the deployment center in the air. The methanol in the air was collected bythe distilled water through the air sampler, and then detected by a gas chromatography (CG)with capillary column and a flame ionization detector (FID). This paper selects the retentiontime of qualitative analysis, external standard peak area for quantitative analysis, andproposed that the methods to deal with the standard curve and experimental results.
