This paper is based builded small simulations of industrial production installations in the lab as a platform. Coal blending, chemical activation and their influence on adsorption properties of activated carbon from taixi coal are studied by using Ningxia taixi coal as raw materials,which use coal blending of pore control technology and chemical activation of pore control technology.Through the analysis of Ningxia and neighboring coalfield, Shenmu zhangjiaqu coal and baijiawan coal are typical ingredients for coal blending, which are high volatiles and low fixed carbon. They have a good complementary with Taixi coal. Through measuring the reactivity and its changing relationship to ratio of single coal and blended coal under900℃, Zhangjiaqu coal is used as raw materials to blend the coal. The study shows that with the increasing of zhangjiaqu coal,ratio iodine value and intensity of the formed activated carbon reduce gradually,but methylene blue value, ash content andignition loss rate increase gradually.Relationships between activators (alkali chloride, carbonate, nitrate) and adsorption properties of activated carbon from taixi coal are studied by the dipping method. Activator-treated samples are reacted in an inert atmosphere, studying the dependency between the activator and adsorption performance of activated carbon from taixi coal. Using Fe (NO3)3, CaCl2as activator,the formed activated carbon is prepared. The study shows the iodine value and methylene blue value of adding activators products are improved significantly.Using coal blending-chemical activation of pore control technology, taixi coal and zhangjiaqu coal blend coal according to the ratio of9:1, adding12g aqueous solutions of Fe (NO3)3and CaCl2according to the ratio of1:1.Carbon products are prepared after forming, carbonization, activation,activated,which the iodine value is1520.65mg/gand methylene blue value is263.11mg/g.On the basis of laboratory research, a rapid activation process of activated carbon is developed, which is applied to the activated carbon production of a Ningxia enterprise.It is effective to reduce the difficulty of the taixi coal activation, decrease the activation time and reduce the consumption.
