With the development of the technology, the ion beam analysis (IBA) has been widely used in the material science. The interaction between the injected ion and the target atom is the foundation of the IBA. As one of the major parameters used in the simulation of the nuclear energy loss and the radiation damage, the inter potential has caught scientist’s attention. The simulation which based on the first principle could calculate the inter potential without any empirical parameters. Unfortunately, the computational ability of computers limits the usage of this method. Based on the Monte-Carlo method, the relationship among the yield ratio of proton to triton and the multiply scattering and the emitted angle of the product of D-D reaction was analyzed. Then a new method was proposed to analyze the inter potential between the low energy deuteron and target atom in metallic material. The experimental ratio of proton to triton has been studied by using the low-energy high-current ion beam generator at the laboratory of Nuclear Science in the Tohoku University. First the deuterium ions which energy ranged from1keV to20keV were implanted into the target. Then after the yield of protons would not change with time, the yield ratios of proton to tritium were measured. The lower limit of the proton yield was80000in order to keep a lower statistical uncertainty. In this work, a Monte-Carlo simulation code to calculate the yield ratio was developed. The energy loss, free fly path, scattering angle, impact parameter and the nuclear reaction were considered completely in this code. Furthermore, the Gauss-Mehler quadrature had been used in order to simulate the scattering process with different inter potential models. We simulated the yield ratio based on the kinematic method and the universal potential and compared the results with the experimental data. The results showed that1) there is huge difference between the simulation data obtained from kinematic method and experimental data;2) the simulation yield ratio could get a better fit to the experimental data by adding the angular distribution of the differential cross section of D-D reaction;3) based on the universal potential, the increasing of the screening length provided a better simulate result.
